Sagar R. Desai, OD

Sagar Desai, OD, is an optometrist at Bossier Eye Institute who treats a variety of eye conditions, including diabetes, glaucoma, cataracts, red eyes, macular degeneration, foreign body removal, astigmatism, retinal pathology and other eye emergencies. His practice also includes contact lens fittings and prescription glasses.

A native of Bossier City, Dr. Desai earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and a Doctor of Optometry degree at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He completed externships at Bond-Wroten Eye Clinic in Denham Springs and Willis Knighton Eye Institute in Shreveport.

Dr. Desai is married and has two sons. His first name, Sagar, means “ocean” in Hindi, and he enjoys traveling the world and trying different cuisines. So far, he has visited 30 countries. He is also a huge sports fan and enjoys watching the Saints, Pelicans and LSU Tigers.
